I’ve twice emailed my mortgage lender, an internet bank, asking if they would phone me to discuss my mortgage (I want to transfer from variable to fixe rate). They haven’t responded and i’m fed up. Meanwhile, the bank where I have my current account has offered me what looks like a better deal. Should I have a hissy fit and change lenders out of spite or should I persist with trying to make my mortgage lender talk to me, even though I’ve got the right hump with their level of service?

or would you save money by arranging for one to be carried out by a surveyor advertising on the internet? I just want a home buyers report, not an in-depth survey.
Patti T, the seller definitely doesn’t pay for the syrvey or homebuyers report! Not in the UK at any rate!
What are the implications of this, i.e. Can they put your rates up and how would it effect you if you wanted to move house?
my current discounted mortgage runs out in january 2008 and i have a loan secured on my property.i want to change my mortgage in january 2008,will i have a problem?

I have been registered disabled since 2001 my husband is my full time carer, we recieve the normal regular benefits. The mortgage we have was a fixed rate, last year this expired. Would we be able to do anything about it as the rates are now lower than when we took the mortgage out.
the benefits are disability living allowance, incapacity benefit, carers allowance and income support
Just trying to find out if they are telling the truth about money owed. They are claiming repossession so can’t pay, as they can’t pay the mortgage.
I am a first time buyer - the vendor is going to give me my 5% deposit as he needs to move as soon as possible to Europe. I have a mortgage agreed in principle with Northern Rock but they wont lend on blocks of flats above 5 high.
Our incomes are 30k and we have no debts or credit.
I have spoken to a few mortgage brokers but they are unable to find anybody
Just wondering if i can count my tax credits and child benefit as income for a mortgage as it would allow me to borrow a considerable amount more.
Just with all this banks getting it wrong it got me thinking. Take any mortgage lender, what will happen if they get it wrong and go down, and in event of nobody offering to buy them? What happens with my mortgage? Who do I owe the money to?
In event of the bank being bought, do I keep the same terms with the new owner or is the contract void?
I am trying to change my mortgage from my 1st lender but there seems to be a query on how long I have my 1st mortgage because I bought from the council. I am not trying to sell judt move to a better lender
I live in the UK and have a Mortgage with Northern Rock. I am around 5 months in arrears and the house is becoming a huge burden. I need to get rid of this house quickly but nobody is buying for the amount I owe on the mortgage (which is less than the house is worth).
Can I surrender the house to the lender? I do not want this to go to court as we have a baby on the way and need every penny.
If I have a mortgage on my house and my lender becomes insolvent, what happens?
Do I still owe anybody money?
Who owns the title to the house (in my case mortgage is 20% of purchase price)?

My friend, who is single, lost his job last week. He has a mortgage offer on a new house he is buying and says he’s going to continue to buy it as he can cover the mortgage by getting lodgers. Does he need to tell the mortgage lender about his changed circumstances by law?
A creditor is about to take a charging order on my property. I want to know if this creditor has the right to discuss this issue with my mortgage lender and will they exchange informaton about me.
